Etsy Watercolours
Just opened an Etsy shop - as I seem to be having so much fun with watercolours! I have been thinking about how to experiment/work further on my drawings, using different colours/materials/papers/sizes and so on and hopefully Etsy will provide a way for me to get feedback and sell on these work. This is one of the first works to go on sale, a mirror image of the original image, with the natural differences working in watercolour provides . . .

And this location of yours on Etsy, would it happen to have a URL?
ReplyDelete:)
Oh, it might - http://www.etsy.com/shop/janegardiner !
ReplyDeleteThere's a flickr page, too - mainly interesting for seeing the improvement over the last couple years - http://www.flickr.com/photos/janegardiner/ - with your help, kinda, for giving me the courage to hire models
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful! Thanks so much for the links - and I'm glad you're finding hiring models a benefit to your artwork. I haven't had a chance to look at the whole flickr stream yet, but this one is fantastic:

I just went through the entire flickr stream - you have gotten a *lot* better. That's a huge amount of progress for a year - congratulations on the fruits of your hard work!
ReplyDeleteThank you (i think . . . ) - part of it is that I've been concentrating on painting for the last couple of years (having picked up oils for the first time about 2 1/2 years ago), you know, thinking about tone/mass/edges/colour etc - all the stuff you don't do with line. But line has always been my first love . . . .
ReplyDeleteNot intended as a dig - I really like the work you're doing! And you owe me one cat picture, by the way.
ReplyDeleteIt has left the Brooklyn sorting office - code number - ly571600275gb - please tell me if it doesn't arrive in good condition!
ReplyDeleteIt got here today! It's beautiful! Charlotte absolutely loved it, and I am so thrilled with that print - you know I'm crazy about that piece. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteOh, good! Yesterday was our wedding anniversary, so am all full of goey-ness and wanting to promote marital happiness so I'll count that as a mission success!
ReplyDeleteHuge success! Complete out-of-the-blue present for Charlotte. She's a longtime cat person, and very finicky about the degree of catness of pictures of cats. She is extremely pleased with Mr. Library Cat's catness. Loved loved loved it. The other picture is going up on the wall of my studio. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd happy anniversary! Many happy returns!
So, I can say I'm on show in New York? Cool . . .
ReplyDeleteThe cat-ness of cats IS very important - the whole personality of a cat comes through in their posture, even more than with humans - may well write a post on the subject very soon!
